At Content+Cloud, we help organisations find better ways to operate through technology and seek the same for our own business. We’re also committed to making our own processes more sustainable and take actions to improve our environmental and social impact.

What does social value mean to us?

Content+Cloud’s mission is to empower ambitious organisations and their people to succeed. We recognise that this includes a responsibility to deliver real value and impact surrounding the local economy, inequality, climate change and wellbeing.

How social value informs what we do

We have embedded social value and sustainability into what we do across people, processes and technology.

Social value in people and culture

The success of our clients drives us, but we cannot achieve this without the talent and passion of our people. We’re a Disability Confident employer and support all our people with a hybrid workstyle that offers the best of flexibility and collaboration.

Alongside a range of health and lifestyle benefits, our people have access to learning tools and platforms. This includes two additional days off a year for personal or career development.

Our diversity insights are continuously being improved, including tracking of gender pay gap levels and data relating to applicant and employee equality.

Within our communities across our UK and South Africa locations, we continually support charities, offering donations, sponsorships and our own time through volunteering. We also invest in the future of the local workforce, supporting both government-led and our own Microsoft-partnered youth employment programmes.

Social value in our processes

We’re committed to reducing our environmental footprint, with a Carbon Reduction Plan in place as part of our goal of becoming net-zero by 2030.

To ensure our social value policy is effective, engaged and aligned with our goals, we’ve established a social value working group. With representatives from across the company, this group monitors and measures the metrics and progress of our activities.

As part of the Advania group, Content+Cloud is integrating the group’s sustainability values in its policies. We share Advania’s belief that the digital world offers both risks and opportunities for sustainability – and we acknowledge that technology can be used to protect the environment and promote sustainable development.

We have demands of our suppliers and partners, assessing them every six months to ensure we are working with the most innovative and disruptive companies.

Social value in technology

As a longstanding partner to Microsoft, we take great inspiration from its approach to sustainability. We share the belief that technology can be a great force for benefitting communities and the environment. With technologies such as Azure, organisations are more able than ever to modernise and optimise, moving their infrastructure to the cloud and reducing the footprint of their IT.

We’re also a proud signatory of the Microsoft Partner Pledge, a rallying point for businesses sharing Microsoft’s values to make more possible for people, industry and society as a whole.

All of our people are required to complete Microsoft’s accessibility training, which helps everyone gain an understanding of how to make the digital world more inclusive. We encourage further development through training platforms like LinkedIn Learning.

How we measure our social value

At Content+Cloud, we continuously expand on our social value metrics. This allows us to report on the progress and impact of our bespoke activities.

Our social value framework and the associated metrics are aligned and founded on the UK Social Value Model, as well as nationally recognised metrics from the National Themes, Outcomes and Measures (TOMs) Framework, established by the National Social Value Taskforce in 2017.
